Currently, China has the largest impact on the esports market in Asia and MENA – out of the 56% mentioned above. China holds about a 34.2% share of the esports market, with the country generating $445 million in esports revenue.
The report further states that China has recorded an audience of 400.2 million esports fans in 2022, which has declined by 7.8% in the same year.
The esports industry in Asia and MENA is also experiencing a surge in viewership, with a combined 17.4% increase reported across ten key markets such as India, Japan, and Southeast Asia, according to the report. This growth brings the estimated total number of esports fans in Asia and MENA to approximately 742 million in 2022.
